Adobe CS5 Announced! Awesome new features!

Just in Photoshop alone, I'm most excited about the new extracting tools, the HDR, and the content aware fill.  However, at a full price of $1899 for the design version (ouch), I might have to take up some local college art classes to get in on an academic discount for an upgrade - no known pricing about this yet.

Check out some video demonstrations on what's new at photoshop cafe.

Trufocals brings adjustable focus to glasses

This is a first, and a real boon for those that are considering bifocals, trifocals or progressives.

First let me tell you that my parents have tried the bifocals, trifocals and the progressives and none of them seem to stick.  They make the user nauseous in many cases the more the different focal lengths come into play.

With true focals, just flicking a slider mechanism will bring nearby or faraway objects into focus.

What's your killer business app on the iPad?

For me, its gotta be Logmein Ignition.  I have remote access to hundreds of PCs anywhere with WiFi or ATT 3G coverage both on my iPhone and in the future, a 3G iPad.

$29.99 LogMeIn Ignition

I imagine in the near future medical health records are going to be huge!  Artists may actually do some serious work, and photographers like myself might just do some photo editing and portfolio / shoot presentation and sales directly on the iPad.

TomTom introduces GPS units with lifetime traffic and map service

Its about time.

TomTom Lifetime Traffic and Lifetime Maps GPS units are on pre-order at Amazon and the prices are actually reasonable.  I remember just about a year ago I spent $70 just on updates for my older TomTom 910 unit.

These might just be good enough reason to upgrade.

I love TomTom navigation in general.  If only they had included the lifetime - one-time fee for their TomTom on iPhone application I would be using it all the time.  As it stands right now, Navigon is still the best for the iPhone platform.
