Popular Mechanics abusive lab test on padlocks
I'm in market for some good locks to protect my gear : bike, storage, house gate, etc and this month's issue has a feature on some "all-weather" locks. Perfect!
Check it out.
Short story is I will be getting a few Master Lock Magnums M930XKADLH. You can't even shoot a hole through it with several rifle shots nor by a .300 Winchester Magnum.
Give Google Voice a try
I've been a Google Voice (GV) user for years now (starting back in the days when it was Grand Central and then bought out by Google). Recently they made it open to the public and I have no doubts in recommending it to anybody else who has also moved over a lot of their cloud services to Google.

Bees getting killed by cell phone radiation
Old news, but more studies have come to light that mobile cell phone radiation may be reducing population of bees. A recent study in India showed that when exposed to 900 Mhz GSM cell phone radiation, bee colonies population declined when compared to a dummy cell phone placed at a bee colony.
Maybe it's time we consider low radiation alternatives to sticking that cell phone next to your brain on that next lengthy cell phone call.
Costco to be adding Gelato
At a few test stores, Costco is unveiling gelato ice cream in their menu of prepared foods. Mmm! Pizza and ice-cream. Now if only they would bring over that Peking duck pizza I've been enjoying over in Taiwan.
So far I have only encountered Costcos in San Diego County to have the Gelato.
AT&T has revamped their data plans - most make out on top, but unlimited plans now extinct
I had high hopes on getting an iPad 3G and signing up for the $29.99 monthly, no contract, unlimited data plan. However it seems it's going to be no more - now the best you can get is a $25 for 2 GB data plan.
Read the details here on ZDnet.
I'm going to have to reconsider the benefits of getting a 3G iPad now with this latest announcement.
iPhone tethering is going to be an extra $20 on top of your data plan per month.
