I can see this as being a really useful device for people always looking for pens, or have horrible hand-writing, or worse, can't write (for whatever reason). So many possible uses, I can't see why this wasn't 're-invented' years ago and brought to market. Anyway its out now, and you can get Play for $59.99

Sphero is Out, and It's RC Fun for Anyone (with iOS / Android bluetooth).
In a nutshell, its a radio control ball that is super durable and waterproof. You control it with your touchscreen using an app on your iOS or Android device. You connect to it via bluetooth and point on the screen and go.
I tried it out for 10 minutes at CES and I was sold. This is fun, fun, fun. I can't imagine many people not picking it up and playing some games (there are a few out) or running through some obstacle courses with friends.

This guy has been showing off his company's (Rotor Concept) electric copters for many years now at CES. Before they were just for hobbyists, now that he has one that can carry a decent payload it deserves some serious consideration for many industries including aerial photography.
