Safer Driving with a HUD (Heads Up Display)

This is for those of us that don't need / want to buy a separate GPS device for the car, when a phone does a better job.

I'm reviewing the Hudly.  Its the only HUD that projects exactly what is on your phone / everything you want from your phone.  This means I can use Waze, Google Maps, Apple Maps, Navigon - Anything.

Canon Rebates? Super Fast - Too Fast

This is rare, in fact the first of its kind that I have ever experienced.  I submitted a Canon rebate offer for a Canon camera maybe 3 weeks ago.  I got it today, and called to activate it for 'online' use.

Entered the card number in system, and it shows $0 balance available.  I talked to customer service (was going to need to anyway to register card for online use and they connected me with their (American Express was issuer) technical team member.

He asked some vague questions.  Probing questions.  Ones that made me wonder if I was in fact dealing with a fraud?! I knew I wasn't, since this is Canon, and I've got these rebate cards before - lots in fact.

Anyway after he verfied my information, we came to the conclusion that the card was entered into system last Thursday and hadn't even been loaded with the funds yet.

So Canon processed the rebate and mailed it faster than American Express can load it!  I suppose equal credit needs to be given to the US Postal service?

He suggested I check back in a week and see if its been loaded / activated yet.  The order was in, but the card simply wasn't ready yet.

I'll update if there are any further noted issues.  If this happens to you, just know that you may have to wait a week or so or face a decline, and potential fraud alert if you try to use the card.  Don't believe the notice that says the card is activated and ready to use!

Future TVs To Be Mounted On Walls Like Paintings Using Magnets

According to LG's new W7 OLED 4K TVs, you will mount your TVs on the wall like a thinly framed painting using magnets.  At less than 4 mm thin (3.85mm), and 18 lbs for their 65" version including the wall mounts, it is so thin, there is no need for a stand; you just mount it to the wall.

The 'entry' level signature series is supposed to go for $8000, on pre-order soon.  Includes a Dolby Atmos Sound Bar and a stunning OLED screen, albeit the same quality found in their entire 2017 OLED line up.

A New Tactile Control Panel for Lightroom Photographers

Loupedeck™ from DigiPeople Studio on Vimeo.

I wish I heard of Loupedeck before the campaign ended, but I've been too busy with 'life' to curate and post lately.  Good news is that it was funded, so it should be available by the end of this year (hopefully).

In the meantime, I will be playing with my new Palette Pro Gear.

The Best Car Mount for Samsung Galaxy Phones

iOttie CES 2017 Promotional Video by mikemuonline

Its the iOttie iTap Wireless which features a simple magnetic mounting system, wireless Qi charging, high charge throughput to keep up with your GPS needs, dashcam feature, and internal fan to keep things cool so that you get full sustained charge.

The only problem with it?  Well, there is no great case for the iPhone from iOttie that works great with their system.

You can find iOttie products at Amazon.

*This is not a paid endorsement of iOttie products.  I just happen to have bought several of their mounts, and use them all the time and love their design, price, performance ratio for my personal use.*
