Neuton CE6 Lawn Mower Review
I recently had a problem with the Neuton CE6 I reviewed. I contacted them via email about the issue and they had me describe the problem. I suspected it was either the battery or charger, but most likely the charger.
They are sending one out to me free of charge.
So far the first customer experience with Neuton has been positive (which is much more than I can say with Lenovo's poor overall customer service).
Update:
New charger received, but it took about a month! That meant no mowing at all with the Neuton CE 6.4 and the grass / weeds were out of control! If I had known it would take a month to receive, I'd have just ordered a brand new one.
Here's where the whole Neuton experience goes downhill. After charging up the Neuton I noticed that it has much less runtime and power than before. Mulching / mowing at the lowest grass cut setting just was not working - there was not enough power. I was only able to mow the front lawn before the power cut out.
I believe the battery was damaged by the defective charger, either directly or indirectly. Indirectly because you aren't supposed to leave your lead acid battery discharged for a long period of time. And in all it took over 2 months to figure out the issue (mower is located at a second home).
I did email Neuton as such but didn't get much of a reply after we went back and forth on it. I think I'm on my own for this.
Buyer beware.
Overall after almost a year of owning the Neuton, I'd have to believe there are better electric mowers out there.
Mulching isn't all that great. It gets caught and stuck.
Mowing time is half an hour or so - less now with my damaged battery.
Mower power isn't enough for overgrown grass.
Overall support is not as top notch as I hoped.
I'm going to have to get another battery now but I'm also thinking about checking out the competition. I hear black n' decker has a decent electric powered unit now.
Black and Decker Cordless Mowers Rated Higher than Neuton. I have not personally owned or tested a Black and Decker cordless mower, but consumer reports has and they rate it higher than Neuton.
