Why I Stopped Going to Starbucks

I haven't been inside a Starbucks in what seems like almost a year -- till today. Sure, on road trips I'll head in-n-out and get my java fix but it's nowhere near as often as the daily ritual it used to be.
Here are a few reasons:
- Internet went free for everyone. This was a bad thing (for me anyway) because the internet speed took a nose dive. More people with laptops came in and power outlets became scarce as did seating.
- I found out about the Aeropress coffee maker. Wow, there is hardly an easier and faster way to get my coffee that's clean and easy, not to mention economical.
- Some Starbucks cafes are either freezing cold and some are simply not cold enough. Strangely enough, the one I'm in right now is just right for a change.
- The quality of some drinks have gone down, and some of my favorite syrups went missing. Anybody remember that melon syrup? They never brought that back!
- I'm working on being more health conscious about what I eat, especially since I stopped going to the gym for a long while now. Those icy frapps taste really good, but they contain a ridiculous amount of corn syrup, other sugars and calories.
- Let's face it, the coffee isn't that great - at least the regular and the daily aren't and that's usually what I get.
- Clear 4G = faster internet almost everywhere. Sitting in this Starbucks, I'm getting 5x the speed off my MiFi unit. You can find me at some park bench or sitting under a tree with that speed.
- Music is too loud, it's difficult to make a quick phone call without stepping outside.
Nonetheless, I'm still glad that you can find a Starbucks on almost every major street. Seeing today's Starbucks stock at $36.39 (and still rising looking at the past 2 years), they must be doing many things right.
