My issue now is that the old system is incompatible with the new system so I may have to run both systems. I'm hoping they have an upgrade program for their older, loyal customers.
I do wish they kept the old orange color though because now this SD card looks like every other SD card in the camera.
I must admit, some of them are a bit hard to tell. Most are difficult to tell on a smaller laptop monitor, but the magnifying glass helps. Click here to try for yourself.
You know the saying? The best camera is the one you have with you... Well, this may just be the best camera!
This was announced at Photokina recently and it looks to be positioned as the photographer's Every Day Carry camera. A smartphone but with an awesome camera behind it with a truly enormous (by pocket camera standards) 1" sensor!
It does lack an optical zoom, but it is a smartphone after all. Full Android smartphone!
No word on if it will be released in the US, but we can all wish can't we?

This list is going to be mostly photography related, and from the perspective of fitting everything into a carry-on bag which I would be using on walking photo tours around DC for my first time.
Bag:
The bag I went with was the Think Tank Urban Disguise 60 v2 found here. It fits my MacBook Pro Retina, my entire micro 4/3 kit, and extra batteries to power everything, served as my personal carry-on item at the airlines and also doesn't look like a camera bag and converts to a backpack. Plus all ThinkTank bags come with a rain cover - it rains a lot in DC.

I chose the Olympus E-M5 for its fantastic image quality, super image stabilization, weather proofing, and the fact that I didn't have to buy another body to go. I'll add that I took a long close look at the OMD-EM1, but decided that it was a toss-up in image quality and that I wouldn't benefit much from upgrading.
I also chose the E-M5 over my Canon 6D mostly a weight, and size issue. I knew I'd be walking 10 miles a day, and possibly in some rain. I have to say this was a tough choice not knowing exaclty how I'd feel after walking so much in the heat, but I'm glad I went with the micro 4/3s vs full frame.
The Sony RX-100M II was an easy choice. Its the best overall well rounded compact you can get, that also has a hot-shoe. If you don't need the hot-shoe, go Sony DSC-RX100M III

Ricoh Theta captures everything in a single click, and is the size of half a pack of bubble yums. This is another no brainer for travel and is a fun camera to use for obvious reasons. Being able to capture everything around you in a single click is so refreshing and surprisingly useful. More on that later when I write about my trip.

I pledged at the Lens reward level on kickstarter last year, and just got this beautiful lens. As you can see, its quite shiny, and that's because its made of brass in Russia of all places. I could have got this lens months ago were it not for Lomo's lack of communication about shipments of lenses coming really early. I guess they thought it would be a nice surprise - except it wasn't, because I was out of town, and it required a direct signature from myself. I hope they learned their lesson, because I'm not the only one.
(Fedex also wasn't very helpful in re-directing the packaging either.)
I've yet to shoot much with it, as it really begs to be a portrait lens shot at f2.2 with subject smack in the center.
Coined a 'Fixel' by Flixel Photos Inc. As you can see, its essentially a moving picture where the creator can decide what part to allow to 'move' based on the original video. This took all of 5 minutes to make - including the 10 second shoot using the software for the first time.
It's on sale right now for $14.99 (which they say is 92.5% off original price). I'm definitely going to have some fun with this.
