What's the difference between the ICD-SX1000 and the Sony ICD-SX733 Digital Voice Recorder?

Answer:

According to Sony's website, there are a few things:

ICD-SX1000 is Black
ICD-SX1000 has Zoom Mike functionality, the 733 does not
ICD-SX1000 records as high as 96khz, 24 bit. SX733 only goes up to 44khz, 16 bit. Both linear.
SX1000 has 16gb built in, SX733 has only 4GB. Note that both are expandable.
SX1000 comes with a wind-screen, and I believe a better carrying case

Is it worth the extra $80? Well if you need the best recording linear PCM 96khz, 24 bit - Yes. If you are just doing standard voice recording, you have to ask if zoom mike functionality is worth the extra $80 (as of the sale price going on right now). If just for voice recording (ie conference, personal notes, etc), I would save the $80 and get the Sony ICD-SX733
