Jaybird Reign Fitness Band @ CES 2014
JayBird Broadens Suite of Products in 2014
Sets Sights on Redefining Activity Tracker Market
Salt Lake City, UT (January 6, 2014) JayBird, the premium sports brand known for its innovations in the wireless premium headphone category, will introduce a new product category at January’s International CES with Reign, a first-of-its-kind wireless activity tracker that goes beyond step, calorie and movement counting.
“We were deeply dissatisfied with the activity trackers on the market that are based on insignificant data points. We saw an opportunity to enhance the principle of activity tracking beyond counting steps, calories and movements,” said Judd Armstrong, founder and CEO of JayBird. “We have had phenomenal success developing our products by identifying active people’s needs, and designing next-level technology around simplifying their lives. With its intuitive functions, Reign acts like a personal guide, providing real-life recommendations that other activity trackers do not.”
Designed for both the casual active user and elite athlete, Reign recognizes the entire spectrum of activity the body experiences throughout the day - from sport to sleep - and provides actionable feedback for the day ahead. JayBird’s sports scientists and industrial designers aimed to inspire active people with a waterproof wristband that offers real substance, in a more fashionable, unobtrusive way.
Reign works by analyzing distinct movements unique to each activity. Moreover, users can place their finger on Reign for two-minutes each morning to obtain their Go-Score. This score measures fatigue and recovery through heart rate variability (HRV) telling users how ready their body is. This serves as powerful ammunition when the user needs an extra spark to be more active. This knowledge, tracked using the Reign iPhone or Android app, provides the user with a complete picture of how they are living their life, especially where amplification or moderation could benefit their overall fitness in times of exertion or rest. Reign even recommends proper amounts of sleep each upcoming night. The magnetic Reign is designed to wear on the wrist and offers less bulk and more overall comfort than other wearable trackers.
JayBird has earned 40% market share in the premium headphone category in its short history, and is well-positioned to make its mark in the activity tracker market with its disruptive approach to the popular sports technology. The company has invested more than $1.5 million into Reign R&D, and currently has 25 patents pending on core technology and innovations.
Reign will be available to the public in May of 2014 in better retailers and online at www.jaybirdsport.com. To follow the Reign story, follow #LetLifeReign during CES beginning Tuesday, January 7.
