Ends in four days. I'd be all over it if it supports Waze natively in the app, but it doesn't. Still it will HUD anything that is displayed on your phone, and it does support Google Maps using its own app.
Garmin HUD May Be Safest GPS Add-on Yet
The Garmin H.U.D. (Heads Up Display) unit is available for pre-order with an estimated early October 2013 release for $149.99. You'll need Garmin's Navigon or StreetPilot on your device though - which runs about an extra $50 if you don't already have it.

My current top choice(s) would be the google maps on Android (free) or TomTom for iPhone / iPad with subscriptions paid for traffic.
If I had to go for a standalone GPS device for driving, it'd be:
iPhone 4 GPS with Navigon vs TomTom 540TM XXL
Going by the philosophy two is one, and one is none, I travel with backups of anything important to get the job done. For car navigation, that means my iPhone 4 with Navigon and my TomTom 540TM XXL.
