Its $199 on pre-order now, which is in-line with what their original DropCams used to sell for. Its waterproofing, and 25 foot cable should make it reasonably easy to set it up outdoors. Improvements in software will also come with the new NestCam release.
I love my Dropcams (now called Nest Cams). But in order to get the full benefit from them you have to subscribe to cloud services which start at $9.99 per month for 7 days of constant recording with no local storage (but you can export recordings from the cloud after.)
Right now its going on lightning deal for $119.99 (normal is $149 release price). Something I'll be checking out and will let you all know how well it works.
