Segway Advanced Personal Robot

This is one of the coolest things I've seen coming this year shown at CES 2016. Its an advanced hoverboard, that can transform to a robot you can remote control, or advanced robot with additions.  I'm particularly interested in the sentry mode, and the follow mode - like having it carry my camera / video gear while I walk.

Pre-orders for the base module coming in a few months on Amazon, no word on when the advanced stuff will be ready nor the pricing.

Last year was the year of the selfie at CES.  Everybody had a selfie stick. They even introduced a belfie stick.  This year, its done and done.  Yes, you can see them being showcased but for the most part the market has saturated.  So Momax went the logical route, and created a fancy premium selfie stick.  The only problem is that it is $115+!

LG's Massive OLED TV Demo signals end of 3D Fad

LG's massive OLED TV Presentation for CES2016. 3D is dead as far as LG is concerned this year.

For years LG has been dazzing CES attendees with massive 3D displays and performances.  Everybody had 3D this and 3D that.  Many promised 3D without those dorky glasses, and last year it looked like it might just be the ticket.  This year, LG got rid of the massive 3D visuals, and just gave us good old fashion awesome CG visuals, sound, and color.

Personally, I've watched Avatar - that was cool.  I'm sure I watched a few more 3D movies in theatre since, but I don't remember what and if it was worthwhile.  Didn't watch Star Wars in 3D, and it wasn't a deal breaker in any way.

I also have a 3D monitor, which just happened to be 3D capable but there wasn't enough compeling me to set it up for 3D.

It was widely known the porn industry pushes the envelope when it comes to video technologies, and this year it looks like the porn industry is also going towards VR.  So, VR looks to be the trend for this year, and the next few from what I saw at this year's CES.  VR and drones, and autonomous vehicles.

iDevices expands Apple's HomeKit Products at CES

2016 iDevices

iDevices has one of the few HomeKit enabled home automation devices for sale at Apple stores nationwide.  This year, they have added a few more products to the HomeKit ecosphere including iDevices Socket, Wall Switch, Dimmer Switch and Wall Outlet all of which enable iOS control, and monitoring and more importantly (for people like me), Siri voice control.  Besides Apple Homekit enabled products, you can find iDevice's other products available on Amazon as well.

Keyport Releases Keyport 3 and Hub to Kickstarter

New Keyport 3 in person at CES 2016

I just saw them yesterday at CES showing off their new, more compact, metal Keyport version 3 that was just released on Kickstarter.  Its more compact, sleeker, and has bluetooth keytracking capability (with TrackR tech), as well as a refined knife option.

I've been using my Keyport version 2 as an EDC item and its been working very well.  They listened to their customers and made version 3 even better with almost everything I'd want.

Netatmo Presence Is A Smart Security Camera

I love smart security cameras like the Nest Cam Security Camera, but they can't really exactly identify whats in the video nor can they function well outdoors.  The Netatmo Presence solves both those problems and adds local micro-SD storage functionality as well.
